Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Currant ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Currant. By creating an account, downloading our application, or otherwise using our Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Description of Service

Currant is a personal relationship management application designed to help you nurture and maintain meaningful connections with the people who matter most in your life.

Free Tier Features

  • Contact health tracking and engagement status
  • Weekly planning cycle for relationship management
  • Life pillars balance tracking (Physical, Spiritual, Intellectual, Social)
  • Basic contact organization and notes

Premium Tier Features

  • All free tier features
  • Calendar integration (Google Calendar and native device calendars)
  • Unlimited contacts and relationship circles
  • Advanced insights and analytics
  • Priority customer support
  • Cloud backup and sync across devices

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

3. User Accounts

Account Creation

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction)

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:

  • Use a strong, unique password for your account
  • Not share your account credentials with others
  • Immediately notify us of any unauthorized access or security breach
  • Log out of your account when using shared devices

4. Acceptable Use

Permitted Use

The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use only. You may use Currant to manage your personal relationships and contacts in accordance with these Terms.

Prohibited Activities

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

  • Using the Service for any commercial purpose without our written consent
  • Harassing, abusing, stalking, or threatening other individuals
  • Uploading or transmitting malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling any part of the Service
  • Circumventing any security measures or access controls
  • Using automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
  • Violating any applicable laws or regulations
  • Interfering with or disrupting the integrity of the Service

5. User Content

Ownership

You retain full ownership of all content, data, and information you submit to the Service ("User Content"). This includes your contacts, notes, relationship details, and any other personal data you enter into Currant.

License Grant

By using the Service, you grant Currant a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. This license:

  • Is necessary for us to operate the Service on your behalf
  • Does not grant us the right to sell or share your data with third parties for marketing
  • Terminates when you delete your account or specific content

Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for your User Content and represent that you have all necessary rights to submit such content and that it does not violate any third-party rights.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its original content, features, functionality, branding, design, and code, is owned by Currant and is protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

The Currant name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of Currant. You may not use such marks without our prior written permission.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in the Service or its content, except for the limited license to use the Service as described herein.

7. Termination

Termination by Currant

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Breach of these Terms
  • Violation of applicable laws or regulations
  • Conduct that we determine is harmful to other users or the Service
  • Extended periods of inactivity

Termination by You

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us at support@mycurrant.app. Upon account deletion:

  • Your access to the Service will be terminated
  • Your User Content will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy
  • Any active subscriptions will be cancelled (refunds subject to subscription terms)

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CURRANT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
  • WARRANTIES OF NON-INFRINGEMENT
  • WARRANTIES THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE
  • WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF ANY INFORMATION OBTAINED THROUGH THE SERVICE

We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times. We may experience hardware, software, or other problems, or need to perform maintenance related to the Service, resulting in interruptions, delays, or errors.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CURRANT, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill
  • Service interruption or computer damage
  • Cost of substitute services
  • Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US, IF ANY, FOR USE OF THE SERVICE DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

You agree to waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action lawsuit against Currant.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect.

We will notify you of changes by:

  • Posting the updated Terms on our website
  • Sending an email to the address associated with your account
  • Displaying a notice within the app

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service.
